The Jule Collins Smith Museum of Fine Arts at Auburn University is presenting the Auburn Forum for Southern Art and Culture on February 3 from 1:30 to 6:30.  Presenters include Elizabeth M. Webb (our resident artist), Lonnie Holley, Joy Harjo and Walter Hood. Registration required

Elizabeth Webb has an exhibit there, a bearing tree is a witness; an oak is an echoangel, from 1/1/24-6/17/24. (Shown: Film still from Boundary Exercise (On Perambulation)).


Poet Salaam Green has been named the first poet laureate for Birmingham.  Watch this video (birminghamalgov) to hear her describe her joy in the position and in Birmingham.  And read about her appointment here.

Also, Elizabeth Webb and Salaam Green have a zoom talk The Art of Racial Healing about their work at the Wallace Center presented by UAB's Arts in Medicine on 2/19 at noon CST.  Free registration is here.  Watch for details about a February 22 artists' panel at Sloss Metal Arts with Webb, Green, and Tony Bingham, moderated by Jennifer McCohnell.
